Cone Beam CT (3D Imaging)

Advanced 3D imaging with VetCAT Cone Beam CT allows us to evaluate your pet’s entire skull in seconds, providing faster, more accurate diagnoses for dental, sinus, ear, and maxillofacial conditions right here in Maine.

Mainely Veterinary Dentistry is proud to offer VetCAT Cone Beam CT, advanced 3D imaging technology that allows us to evaluate your pet’s entire skull with exceptional detail. This state-of-the-art system provides faster, more accurate diagnoses for dental, sinus, ear, and maxillofacial conditions — all performed right at your pet’s table in under a minute.

What Makes Cone Beam CT Different?

Unlike traditional dental X-rays, which provide limited two-dimensional images, Cone Beam CT captures detailed three-dimensional images of the entire head. This allows us to examine not only the teeth, but also the sinuses, ear canals, nasal passages, jaw bones, and surrounding structures.

With over 600 images captured in approximately 20 seconds using low-dose radiation, VetCAT provides comprehensive diagnostic information that helps us detect issues that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Conditions We Can Better Diagnose

Cone Beam CT enhances our ability to diagnose and plan treatment for:

  • Advanced dental disease
  • Tooth root abscesses
  • Jaw fractures and maxillofacial trauma
  • Sinus disease
  • Ear and nasal conditions
  • Oral tumors and early signs of cancer

This comprehensive view allows us to identify problems earlier and create more precise treatment plans tailored to your pet’s needs.

A Commitment to Preventive and Advanced Care

“Now we’re not just looking at the teeth anymore; we’re able to look at the whole head. We can see the sinuses, ears, and areas around the eyes, allowing us to diagnose a lot more problems that the owner might not have known about because our animals can’t talk to us. One of my passions is preventive care, and this new machine is going to help our team better identify issues so we can address them and send the animal home even better than they were before.”

Preventive care is at the heart of everything we do. Cone Beam CT gives us the diagnostic clarity needed to catch disease early, improve outcomes, and provide gold standard veterinary dentistry right here in Maine.

Advanced Diagnostic Care Close to Home

Before offering Cone Beam CT in-house, pet owners seeking this level of imaging often had to travel out of state. Now, this advanced technology is available locally at Mainely Veterinary Dentistry, eliminating unnecessary travel while providing the highest standard of diagnostic care.

Our investment in VetCAT reflects our ongoing commitment to state-of-the-art equipment, advanced medicine, and compassionate care for pets throughout Maine.
