The dental training that we had with Dr. Jennifer Keaten was very helpful. She was very informative. It was great hands-on training. She demonstrated the correct positioning and technique of taking dental radiographs.  She also took time to look over all of our dental instruments and spent time teaching us proper dental instrument maintenance. She was a pleasure to work with and appreciate the time she took out of her busy schedule to visit our clinic.

Dr. Keaten was very professional and insightful. She really helped us understand our dental x ray and taught us how to utilize our dental machine to its fullest potential. We learned what burs and elevators we should be using for extractions. She helped us create a dental Need, Want, and Wish list which we have used several times. The proper positioning techniques while taking radiographs was immensely helpful and our new knowledge has greatly improved our efficiency with dentals. I would highly recommend her and seek her services with my personal pets as well as patients.

Dr. Keaten was incredibly helpful with her training course that she provided at Poland Animal Hospital. As a newer graduate with limited experience and education in performing dental procedures it was great to have an instructor that I could have hands-on learning with. She was non-judgmental and explained concepts in an easy to understand way. She left great recommendations for different tools and techniques to try out once she has left. I would strongly recommend her for anyone looking to learn more or become more efficient in dental procedures.

I can’t thank Dr Keaten enough! She was there when Otis had jumped off the bed and landed on his face. Upon examination, she noticed that he had bad gum disease and some loose teeth. After xraying, she saw that Otis had a fractured jaw along with a lot of bone loss causing his jaw to weaken in areas, which lead to the fracture. This is why dental care is so important for our furry friends!

Thanks to the help of Dr Keaten Otis is now MUCH happier and healthier. His energy level has already increased now that all that bacteria is out of his system and all the loose teeth are gone. The fact he has only 9 teeth now has not slowed his eating down, in fact, he’s eating better! Dr Keaten was very nice and explained things every step of the way. She really cared about Otis and his dental hygiene! Thank you again Dr. Keaten!!

I have always struggled with dental procedures, mostly extractions. They have caused me much anxiety and stress over the years. Dr. Jennifer Keaten from Mainely Veterinary Dentistry came to our practice for 2 days of instruction on dental radiography, cleaning and extractions. Her techniques were simple and greatly improved both the speed and the ease of our extractions. Dr. Keaten was fun and not the least bit judgmental. I would highly recommend her instruction as it has greatly improved our dental practice, both for our DVMs and our technicians!

Dr. Keaten first saw my 15 year old Belgian Tervuren, Vrai, five days after his emergency clinic visit for extensive bleeding from his mouth. She diagnosed stage 4 periodontal disease and recommended full dental extraction. After researching current best practice protocols and comparing them with Dr. Keaten’s, I decided to proceed with surgery and am very glad I did.

I am so happy with the outcome as Vrai seems years younger. He is eating very well so he was obviously in pain before surgery and I did not realize how much. He is going for daily one mile walks and is awake and interactive much more than before.

He did well under anesthesia and recovered from it quickly. Dr. Keaten’s protocol was perfect for my old guy. He just had his 2 week post surgery visit and he has healed nicely. I was very nervous about anesthesia and surgery on a 15 year old dog but Dr. Keaten helped him sail through it and he feels so much better. Thank you!

Fantastic day!   Great training for both the new grad and those that have been in practice but may not have had the training necessary for dentistry.  Dr. Keaten was patient and very clear in explaining and demonstrating dental techniques.   Highly recommend this training!

Bailey went in for an appointment to have her gums trimmed back a little because they hung a bit low over her teeth and we didn’t want any infection created. After x-rays were done on her mouth, Dr. Keaten discovered a large cyst in Bailey’s lower jaw. She had to have three teeth and the cyst removed. Then repair work to have it closed up. Her two week checkup looked good. Some redness still, which was to be expected.

At her six month follow up Dr. Keaten did more x-rays to see if the bone was filling in, and it was! Her work on Bailey’s mouth was great!

My experience with Dr. Keaten has been nothing short of amazing over the last 6 years. Not only does she do an amazing job, she truly cares her about patients.
